Alan Fulford is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He was elected President of the Building Surveyors Division of the RICS in 1995.
His early career was spent as a planning technician as part of Melton Borough Council's local plan team. He returned to full-time education in 1976 and graduated from Leicester Polytechnic. Upon graduating from college he joined Hunter and Partners in London and then Welling & Partners of High Wycombe, where he set up the building surveying department.
As a Partner in the firm from 1984, Alan was responsible for the design, specification and project management of numerous repair, refurbishment and new build contracts on a variety of residential, commercial and public buildings. He became Senior Partner in Welling Partnership in 1988 and in April 2000, formed Welling bps out of the existing London Docklands and High Wycombe offices of Welling Partnership. He became a Director of Brittain Hadley in Guernsey in March 2004. In July 2006 he established the Warsaw office of Brittain Hadley Europa Sp. z o.o. In April 2007 Welling bps re-branded as Brittain Hadley Welling.
Alan has extensive experience of development and construction contracts and has acted as arbitrator and as expert witness.
In 1999 Alan was elected to Wycombe District Council becoming Cabinet Member for Major Projects and Resources (2001 to 2003). In these roles he was responsible for establishing the vehicle for the £150 million High Wycombe town centre redevelopment project which is currently constructing a 600,000 square feet retail and leisure scheme anchored by House of Fraser and Marks and Spencer. |
